This book is about how to work with your monthly cycle. Lisa identifies there are four different stages to each month, each with differing characteristics. Lisa states that by working with these characteristics you can enhance your relationships, build a better business, have incredible sex and create an amazing life.

This was the first book that I read that introduced me to the idea of there being four stages to my monthly cycle, what they were and suggested how to work with them. I was fascinated,as this was the first time I had been told to rest whilst having my period. It was the first time a women who I considered ‘strong’ was telling me that it was ok to rest. In fact – that it is detrimental to our health to expect the same from ourselves in day one of our cycle to day fifteen.

As someone who had always experienced horrific periods, I was incredibly heavy and would be in agony most months, I had developed an belief about myself that I must be weak / not good enough because I would want to shut down and go within, when lots of other women seemed to be able to carry on regardless. Lisa gave me permission to listen to my body and know that it was ok. Lisa also talks about the other three stages within the cycle, and the gifts that can come from all of them, so long as you let them, and that you allow yourself to rest when you bleed. If not, you will not reach your full potential throughout the rest of the month.

Lisa speaks with and energy and a charisma that I find inspiring. I do get that her tone may not be to everyone’s liking, but for me, it really worked. I also loved that she had links to her website and some free stuff that will help you to monitor your monthly cycle. This was revolutionary to me and was the first step towards me getting to know and understand my body, mind and cycle.

It’s been a life changer for me!
